How to ask questions in Friulian

Here the reader will find numerous instances of questions put in Friulian, with a translation into English.

Observed in the English renderings below is the traditional distinction between thou (second-person singular) and ye (second-person plural), that the reader may eliminate all doubt in his mind as to which form he is dealing with in the Friulian questions. For instance, duarmistu? is rendered art thou sleeping?; this means, in contemporary English, are you sleeping?, when speaking unto a single person on a familiar level. Parcè mi ciriviso?, on the other hand, is rendered why were ye seeking me?; this means, in contemporary English, why were you seeking me?, when speaking unto more than one person on a familiar level.

All Friulian questions below belong to the contemporary language and may be used in one’s own use thereof. There are yet more examples which can be added to this page; they will be written and added periodically. Related readings: Present indicative of the Friulian verbs jessi and . To study Friulian from the basics, the reader is invited to start from Gjenesi 1 of the books of Moses.
