Versets 1-4

Verse 1: Se un al pecje intun di chescj câs (if a man sins [if one sins] in one of these cases): nol palese nuie (he reveals nothing), seben che al à sintût il sproc di bramazion (although he has heard the proclamation of imprecation) e al è testemoni lui o al à viodût e savût (and he himself is witness or has seen and known), al à di rispuindi de sô tristerie (he is to answer for his iniquity).

Verse 2: O ben cuant che un (or when a man [or when one]), cence inacuargisi (unawares [without noticing]), al tocje une robe soce (touches an unclean thing), usance il cadavar di une bestie (be it the carcass of a beast) o il cadavar di un nemâl dumiesti (or the carcass of a domesticated animal) o chel di un che si strissine (or that of one that slithers), al restarà ancje lui soç e in colpe (he too shall become unclean and guilty).

Verse 3: O ben cuant che (or when), cence inacuargisi (unawares [without noticing]), al tocje une robe soce dal om (he touches an unclean thing of man)une cualunche di chês robis che un om al devente soç (any whichever of those things whereby a man becomes unclean) —, cuant che al vignarà a savêlu (when he comes [will come] to know it), al sarà in colpe (he shall be guilty).

Verse 4: O ben cuant che un (or when a man [or when one]), cence fâ câs (unawares [without taking note]), fevelant cussì, libar* (speaking rashly), al varà zurât (swears [will have sworn]), cuntun di chei zuraments che i oms a fasin cence pensâ sore (with one of those oaths that men utter without consideration [without thinking over]), di fâ alc di mâl o di ben (to do something bad or good), se al vignarà a savêlu (if he comes [will come] to know it) al sarà in colpe (he shall be guilty). *Fevelant cussì, libar: the sense here of fevelâ cussì (literally, to speak so) is one of to speak lightly, to speak thoughtlessly, to speak without due consideration; as for libar (literally, freely), it can be taken here in the sense of any of those as well.

Verses 5-6: Cuant che duncje un al sarà in colpe (when a man is therefore guilty [when one will therefore be guilty]) par une di chestis robis (in one of [for one of] these things), al confessarà il pecjât che al à fat (he shall confess the sin that he has committed [has done]); i puartarà al Signôr (he shall bring to the Lord), in riparazion de sô colpe pal pecjât che al à fat (in reparation of his guilt for the sin that he has committed [has done]), une mascje di besteam minût, piore o cjavre (a female from the flock [a female {head} of small livestock], a sheep or a goat), a mût di sacrifici di espiazion (as a sacrifice of expiation). Il predi al fasarà par lui la funzion di espiazion (the priest shall perform [shall do] for him the act of expiation) pal so pecjât (for his sin).

Verse 7: Se nol à pussibilitâts di procurâsi une piore o une cjavre (if he has not the means to acquire a sheep or a goat), i presentarà al Signôr (he shall present to the Lord), in riparazion de sô colpe pal pecjât che al à fat (in reparation of his guilt for the sin that he has committed [has done]), dôs* tortorelis o doi* colomps (two turtledoves or two pigeons): un tant che sacrifici di espiazion (the one as a sacrifice of expiation) e chel altri tant che olocaust (and the other as a burnt offering). *Doi is the masculine form for two in Friulian: doi colomps, whereas dôs is its feminine form: dôs tortorelis.

Verses 8-9: Jai presentarà al predi (he shall present them to the priest), che al ufrissarà par prin chel di espiazion (who shall offer first the one of expiation): i spacarà il cjâf dongje de cope ma cence distacâlu (he shall nip its head [the head] near the nape but without severing it); po al sborfarà il sanc dal sacrifici di espiazion sul flanc dal altâr (then he shall dash the blood of the sacrifice of expiation on the side of the altar) e al striçarà chel che al vanze sul çocul dal altâr (and shall wring out the rest [that which is left over] on the base of the altar). Chest al è un sacrifici di espiazion: this is a sacrifice of expiation.

Verse 10: Chel altri ucel lu ufrissarà a mût di olocaust (the other bird shall he offer as a burnt offering), daûr des regulis distinadis (according to the designated regulations). Cussì il predi al fasarà par lui il sacrifici di espiazion pal pecjât che al à cometût (thus shall the priest perform for him [do for him] the sacrifice of expiation for the sin that he has committed) e i sarà perdonât* (and it shall be forgiven him). *I sarà perdonât: note that this does not mean he shall be forgiven, but it shall be forgiven him or unto him shall it be forgiven: {il pecjât che al à cometût} i sarà perdonât (unto him shall the sin that he has committed be forgiven).

Verse 11: Se però nol à pussibilitâts di procurâsi dôs tortorelis o doi colomps (but if he has not the means to acquire two turtledoves or two pigeons), al puartarà (he shall bring), come ufierte pal pecjât cometût (as an offering for the sin committed), la decime part di efa di farine di flôr (the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour), a mût di sacrifici di espiazion (as a sacrifice of expiation); nol à di meti ni vueli ni incens (he is not to put oil or incense), parcè che al è un sacrifici di espiazion (for it is a sacrifice of expiation).

Verse 12: I puartarà la farine al predi (he shall bring the flour to the priest), che int cjaparà sù une zumiele (who shall take up a handful thereof) tant che memoriâl (as a memorial), fasintle brusâ sul altâr (making it burn upon the altar) parsore des vitimis consumadis dal fûc (over the victims consumed by fire) in onôr dal Signôr (in honour of the Lord). Al è un sacrifici di espiazion: it is a sacrifice of expiation.

Verse 13: Cussì il predi al fasarà par lui la funzion di espiazion (thus shall the priest perform [do] for him the act of expiation) pal pecjât che al à fat (for the sin that he has committed [done]) tun di chei câs che o vin dit modant* (in one of those cases whereof we have just now told), e i sarà perdonât (and it shall be forgiven him). Ce che al vanze al sarà pal predi (the rest [that which is left over] shall be for the priest), come ufierte (as an offering). *That is to say, the cases specified in verses 1-4.

Verses 14-16: Il Signôr i fevelà a Mosè e i disè (the Lord spoke to Moses and said): se cualchidun al fâs un imbroi (if a man commits [if someone does] a fraud) e al pecje cence pensâ sore (and sins without consideration [without thinking over]), tignint indaûr alc di ce che al è consacrât al Signôr (keeping back something of that which is consecrated to the Lord), che al puarti come sacrifici di riparazion al Signôr un roc cence pecjis (let him bring to the Lord as a sacrifice of reparation a ram without blemish [without blemishes]), cjolt dal trop (taken from the flock), che tu lu stimarâs in siclis d’arint (which you shall valuate in shekels of silver) seont il valôr dal sicli dal santuari (according to the value of the sanctuary shekel); al rifondarà il damp fat al santuari (he shall compensate for the harm done to the sanctuary) zontant une cuinte part (by adding a fifth part) e je darà al predi (and shall give it to the priest), che al fasarà par lui la funzion di espiazion (who shall perform [shall do] for him the act of expiation) cul roc ufiert a mût di sacrifici di riparazion (with the ram offered as a sacrifice of reparation), e al varà il perdon (and he shall be forgiven [and he shall have the pardon]).

Verse 17: Cuant che un al pecjarà (when a man sins [when one will sin]) fasint, cence savê, une robe che il Signôr je à inibide (doing, unwittingly [without knowing], a thing that the Lord has forbidden him), al sarà in colpe (he shall be guilty) e al varà di paiâ il so fal (and shall pay [shall have to pay] for his transgression).

Verse 18: I presentarà al predi (he shall present to the priest), a mût di sacrifici di riparazion (as a sacrifice of reparation), un roc cence pecjis (a ram without blemish [without blemishes]), cjolt dal besteam minût (taken from the flock [taken from the small livestock]) seont la tô stime (according to your valuation); il predi al fasarà par lui la funzion di espiazion (the priest shall perform [shall do] for him the act of expiation) pal fal cumbinât cence savê (for the transgression committed unwittingly [done without knowing]) e i sarà perdonât (and it shall be forgiven him).

Verse 19: Al è un sacrifici di riparazion (it is a sacrifice of reparation), par vie che chel om al jere in colpe (given that the man [that man] was guilty) tai confronts dal Signôr (towards the Lord).

Verse 26: Il predi al fasarà par lui une funzion di espiazion denant dal Signôr (the priest shall perform [shall do] for him an act of expiation before the Lord) e al varà il perdon (and he shall be forgiven [and he shall have the pardon]), cualsisedi azion che al vedi fate (whatsoever deed he may have done).
